In Maths for the next couple of weeks we are going to look at Problem Solving.
So what is a problem? Finn – Something you need to work out. Ethan – Something that is incorrect. Sumayah – Something that you need to think of. Alice – You need to go through it.
What is problem solving? Tyler – It is working out the answer that fits the question. Jack – It is something that requires logic. Emma – Solving things you don’t know. Sumayah – It helps you when you get a job. Madeline – You have to have a strategy for each problem
Stephen – There are four steps that you need to go through in solving most mathematical problems. These are:
- Understand and explore the problem
- Find a strategy
- Use the strategy to solve the problem
- Look back and reflect on the solution
Here is a problem for everyone to try and answer…

The answer is 4
I think it is 8 because 16 divided by 2 equals 8
4 ducks
He Stephen
I think the answer is 4 sheep and 4 ducks
Because 4 x 4 = 16 and 4 x 2 = 8 add them together and I’m pretty sure it is that.
See ya at school. It has been an awesome day!
