Every Thursday 3D work with Sha to improve their sports skills. This week we have been focusing on ball skills. Check out the pictures! Today was the final flags challenge between R3 and R12 for term 2. Who came out on top? Yes you guessed it, 3D!!! Check out these awesome Habits Of Mind Posters made by Liam and Grace S! In class R3 are learning about Measurement and how to tell the time. Today as a follow up activity the circle maths group had to create a wordle about time. Check out Liam’s! This week’s hands-on homework task is to design a badge for the Kidsline badge competition! Kidsline are running a competition for primary aged kids and there are lots of great prizes for the winners. If you want to find out more information just click here to go to their website. I will go over the task in class and show you what is expected. So what are you waiting for! Come on everyone, lets get designing! Today I sent our class mascots the snail and whale to Australia! How cool is that! They have 6 host schools to visit, starting off in New South Wales. Watch this space to see what they get up to in the coming months! In class all the kids who have finished their reading activities are creating book trailers for their favourite books. Check out Georgia, Emma and Grace’s! Yesterday Russell Street School celebrated Matariki Day by completing a whole lot of different activities around the school. Check out the photos! Our class mascots the Snail and Whale arrived in Taupo yesterday. They are on the road again and having a ball! Check out the post they put on our snail and whale blog! Hello out there, Snail and Whale have arrived safely at Broadlands School, Taupo, New Zealand. Snail and Whale have already been to the Kapa Haka festival that our school participated in. We are going on a field trip on the computer to the Cook Strait (the stretch of water separating the two islands in NZ) and Snail and Whale are coming to! The trip on the computer to the Cook Strait will be happening at 1.30pm on Wednesday, the 20th of June 2012 on the LEARNZ website. It will be about the whales and it will be live and the will be trying to get some footage of the whales. We are really excited to have Snail and Whale and are enjoying having them in Room5, Broadlands School.
In class we have been learning how to use I-movie. Check out this video that Georgia T made about the Cross Country. I think she did a great job! In 3D we are learning about measurement and how to tell the time. Check out this cool game that allows you to practice telling the time. Give it a go, it’s lots of fun! This week’s hands-on homework task is to create an animation using Go Animate. Go Animate is a fantastic website that allows you to create animations for free. I will show you how to use it in class and you will have to sign up for a free account. So what are you waiting for? Go create your very own animation! What is happening with our class mascots the snail and whale? Well one just arrived home from England, one just arrived in Reporoa, NZ and the final one is just leaving USA for home. Check out these videos that the host class in USA made from their visit! Check out this cool app called Show Me that Emma used to show off her number strategies. I think she did an awesome job! Today I introduced 3D to a new reflection tool called the Reflection Wheel. Everyone had to use it to reflect on what it is like in a digital class. Check out Georgia O and Gemma’s! |
