Check out this awesome little video about Matariki Day last week. It was made by our chairman of the board Graeme Brown and I think it turned out great! This week R5 took part in NZ School Time Lapse Project 2. The theme was mad science and I think it turned out awesome! ENJOY! Production practice has been lots of fun! Check out part 2! Today R5 had their first production dance practice with Dean McKerras. The song we are learning is called Jump from the movie ‘Love Actually’. It was awesome fun and we have our next practice session on Thursday. I have attached a copy of today’s session so you can practice at home! So when is production? Well would you believe it is in 2 weeks!! I can’t wait! In class this week R5 have been making healthy hamburgers as part of our Healthy Eating topic. Check them out, they turned out awesome!
Over the last week R5 have been taking part in a New Zealand School Time Lapse Project with 11 other schools. What was the project? Well, all the schools had to send in 20 seconds of time lapse video from their school. The project was set up on twitter and Luke Dyer from Hawea Flat school completed the final edit. R5 did the introduction and a few other clips. When you watch it see if you can spot them! R5 are currently taking part in a time lapse project with 10 other schools around New Zealand. Our job was to do the introduction to the movie. Check out what we came up with! This week’s hands-on homework task was to make a smoothie. Check out this awesome effort by Liam! It’s funny as! This week R5 have been playing around with a new time lapse app called I-Lapse. So what is time Lapse? Well Time Lapse allows you to compress video clips into a shorter time frame. Also R5 are currently taking part in a time lapse project with 5 other schools around new Zealand. Watch this space to see what we come up with! Below is a time lapse movie that R5 made earlier in the week! Check out this little time lapse video I made of the school powhiri on Wednesday! Time Lapse is a cool I-Pad app that allows you to compress video clips into a shorter time frame. I wonder what else we could use it for? Check out this fun brain game R5 like to play in class. It is called ‘The Dice of Death’! Check out this video of R5 performing their cups song for the residents at Willard Home. Hopefully with a few more practices we will be able to perform it at assembly soon! Check out this video made by Ana, Bella and Hannah about RSS! They have been working on it for the last month and I think it turned out terrific! Their focus was on using a variety of camera shots like extreme close up, subject moving into shot, zooming, moving with the shot and trying to use different angles. They shot a lot of footage and each day we have been reflecting on it and picking out the best clips. We hope you enjoy it and if you have time can you leave the girls a comment and let them know what you think! Over the last few week’s Olivia has been teaching the class a song called ‘Miss me when I’m gone’. The kids have thoroughly enjoyed it and are going to perform it at our next assembly. Check out this video of one of the rehearsals! Check out this video of yesterday’s Hands-on Homework boat race! It was lots of fun! In class, Olivia our college teacher, is teaching R5 a cool song that involves using cups. Both Olivia and R5 are doing a great job! Check out one of their practice sessions! A short while ago, a class in Canada who follows our class blog, set us an exciting, fun and breath-taking challenge. This challenge stated that Room 5 had to attempt to beat this class at collecting cards one at a time, lining them up in their suits and keeping them in size order. So, I bet your wondering, “Did they do it?” Hmmm… Well… Of course we did! Room 5, with their magnificent attitudes and intelligent minds, managed to beat the time of 1.37 minutes with a new time of 1.16 minutes. Below I have attached a video so you can witness how wonderfully fast they were. Check out this little slideshow I made of the swimming sports using Photopeach. Photopeach is an awesome website that allows you to make slideshows for free. Click on the link above and give it a go for yourself! |
