On Wednesday 27th February, we will be having a Russell Street School Tryathlon for all students in Years 3-6. All students will need a roadworthy bicycle and a helmet, togs, towel, sports clothing, water bottle and warm clothes for after the race. If you do not have a bicycle then the student can run that part of the course. The first race is at 9.20 starting with the Year 3 girls. Races will begin every 7-8 minutes there after. The event is a Tryathlon which means it is a taster so kids can experience what a triathlon is all about. This means we will not be taking results in Years 3/4. However, we will take results in Year 5/6 and use this information for interschool selection. Finally, we need additional people to help marshal the course. If you are able to help on the day please contact me ASAP! Thanks, Stephen
Yesterday 4.5 had their second Catch Me If You Can session with Sha our sports coach. We were focusing on our running technique. Check out the photos!

It was definitely a golden hour for New Zealand sport! What makes it even more sweet is we now have more gold medals than Australia! How cool is that? Talk about punching above our weight! If you missed the action just click on the picture below! Yesterday was the opening ceremony of the London Olympics! It was pretty awesome and made me definitely want to be back in London (London is my favourite city and I lived there for 2 years!) If you missed it here is a video with the highlights. This morning I went to Saturday morning rugby to watch Jacob from our class play. He plays for Old Boys and his team won 4 tries to 1. Jacob didn’t score any tries but he made some great runs!
